At LifeSaver CPR, our mission is to empower individuals, workplaces, and healthcare professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to save lives. We proudly serve West Michigan and surrounding areas with expert-led training in CPR, First Aid, and advanced life-saving techniques.

In addition to CPR certification, we provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training, and OSHA-compliant First Aid courses—all taught by active first responders with real-world emergency experience.

Whether you’re a nurse, doctor, teacher, construction worker, coach, security officer, or a concerned citizen, LifeSaver CPR offers flexible, hands-on classes that meet your certification and safety goals.

We also supply a full range of AEDs and emergency response equipment, making us your one-stop resource for both training and preparedness.

Our History

Founded in 2014, LifeSaver CPR was established to meet a growing demand for accessible, affordable, and engaging CPR and first aid training in Michigan. Owned and operated by Brandon and Katie Holmes—both active first responders in West Michigan—LifeSaver CPR is built on real-world experience, a passion for service, and a commitment to community safety.

Our mission is to provide high-quality CPR, First Aid, ACLS, and workplace safety training that is both practical and relatable. Every LifeSaver CPR class is taught by professionals who use these life-saving skills daily in the field, ensuring students receive the most up-to-date and realistic instruction possible.

We are dedicated to exceptional customer care and delivering an experience that goes beyond certification—empowering individuals and organizations with the confidence and knowledge to respond in an emergency.

Brandon Holmes

Founder & Lead Instructor, LifeSaver CPR

Brandon Holmes brings over a decade of emergency medical experience and a strong foundation in business leadership to LifeSaver CPR. His journey into emergency services began in 2011 with a local fire department, quickly progressing to become a licensed EMT in 2012 and a nationally registered paramedic in 2013 with American Medical Response (AMR).

Brandon served as a full-time paramedic until 2019, when he transitioned into a career as a full-time firefighter while continuing to practice in the field. Today, he remains active as both a paramedic and certified instructor, teaching ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) for AMR and LifeSaver CPR.

In 2014, recognizing a lack of accessible, real-world CPR training in West Michigan, Brandon founded LifeSaver CPR with a mission to deliver professional, hands-on training led by experienced first responders. His commitment to exceptional customer service, industry-standard instruction, and life-saving readiness continues to guide the company’s growth and reputation.

Under Brandon’s leadership, LifeSaver CPR has become a trusted provider of workplace safety training, CPR certification, and AED solutions across Michigan.

Katie Holmes

Partner & Training Lead

Katie Holmes brings a strong clinical background and a deep passion for education to her role at LifeSaver CPR. She began her career in the medical field in 2008, working in a fast-paced emergency room setting where she developed a dedication to patient care and public safety. After seven years in the ER, Katie transitioned into EMS and earned her paramedic license in 2016.

She joined American Medical Response (AMR) as a paramedic and soon after began training the next generation of EMTs and paramedics. In 2019, she became a certified instructor in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support)—bringing her real-world knowledge into every class she leads.

Katie later shifted to part-time field work to help grow LifeSaver CPR alongside Brandon. Her passion for high-quality education, hands-on instruction, and excellence in EMS training continues to shape the company’s reputation across West Michigan.

Leonard “Buzz” Goodblood

Instructor & EMS Education Mentor

With over 40 years of service in emergency medical services, Buzz is a respected leader and mentor in the West Michigan EMS community. His career began as an EMT for the City of Grand Rapids, followed by years of dedicated work as a paramedic with Life EMS and later Mercy Ambulance, now known as AMR.

In 2000, Buzz earned his instructor certification and began teaching EMT and paramedic students—many of whom now serve as first responders throughout the region. His passion for education quickly expanded to include CPR and First Aid training, where his approachable style, deep knowledge, and real-world insight have made him a favorite among students.

Buzz is known for his incredible stories, his ability to make complex topics easy to understand, and his unwavering commitment to saving lives through education. When asked why he continues to teach, his answer is simple:
“I love teaching.”

Kevin McGraw

Instructor & AED Outreach Advocate

Kevin has dedicated his life to public service and community safety for over four decades. His career began in 1977 with the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, followed by service with the Lowell Police/Rescue team and the Ada Fire Department. He also spent 40 years in Protection Services at Amway, where he continued to refine his skills in emergency response and leadership.

A true community servant, Kevin currently serves as an EMT and firefighter with the Saranac Community Fire Department. His passion for saving lives extends beyond the classroom—he founded a nonprofit organization focused on donating Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to local schools and communities, helping expand access to life-saving equipment across West Michigan.

Kevin is known for his calm, compassionate teaching style and his commitment to making CPR and First Aid training accessible and meaningful for everyone. He brings decades of experience and a genuine love for teaching to every class he leads.

The in-person portion was stress-free and had a very easy-going environment.
